Happy Halloween

From the cutest little lion of them all!

Halloween Part III

Ok, here are pictures from the REAL Halloween.  We only went to a few houses in the neighborhood.  Jack got some candy for mom and dad to eat, which the dogs ended up eating.

Halloween Part II

Another chance to dress Jack up, and take pictures of him with pumpkins.

He wasn't interested in that pumpkin to his left being there.

Halloween Part I

While we were in Iowa, Jack went trick or treating to a few houses.  Mainly, for me to show him off and get as much use out of the costume as possible.  He's pretty compliant yet, so he didn't complain too much about the costume.

More Pumpkin Carving

We carved pumpkins with Aunt Niki and Geoff when we were back in Iowa.

Jack was pretty excited to get started

99 Bottles of Beer

We are back in Iowa again.  This time for Great Grandpa and Great Grandma's 60th wedding anniversary.  On the trip back Jack woke up with about 2 hours left in the car ride.  I've recently discovered that singing "The Wheels on the Bus" does a lot to calm the hysterical crying when he's over riding in the car seat.  It has to be Wheels, Mary had a Little Lamb, Old McDonald's Farm, every other song I know doesn't do it for him.  Needless to say, my version of Wheels on the Bus has a few extra special verses.  All of Old McDonald's animals also ride this bus.

We'd exhausted Wheels, and at a loss for anything else to sing and in search of a song that would kill some serious time, I started singing 99 Bottles of Beer, mother of the year award here.  It was enough to put him to sleep.

Pumpkin Carving

We carved our first pumpkin.  By we, I mean I carved Jack's first pumpkin.  Jack played in the pumpkin guts for awhile and then he and Craig headed inside while I finished carving the pumpkin on the driveway.  He was a little hesitant at first, but then sampled the orange goo.

Peeing with an infant

We are at that awkward stage, where Jack doesn't want to sit in his car seat while we are shopping, but he's not very stable in the cart seat.  So I end up "tying" him into the cart.

That's right, I tied a plastic bag to the handle of the cart to entertain him.

On to my rant.  I've mastered the "hover" in public restrooms.  And am on the verge of mastering the hover while holding a squirming child in my arms.  I'm THAT talented.  My biggest challenge is washing my hands.  I have to hold Jack under one arm while I wash one hand and then switch and wash the other, all while I'm pinching my phone and wallet between my knees/thighs.  Add to that, I pump out the paper towels before I wash my hands, (it's an OCD thing).  On more than one occasion I have pumped out the paper towel and had started washing my hands and had some b*tch take my paper towels, and not even pump it back out.  This recently happened while at Costco, with Jack.  I may have thrown a fit and called her a few choice words.  I know.

Swinging

We've started utilizing the playgrounds in the neighborhood.  Jack loves the swings.

In other news, we've got our first cold.  Jack came down with it when we were in Iowa this past weekend.  Thankfully Grandpa helped sit up with him at night, since he only slept when he was upright in the recliner.  This momma is exhausted.

First Tooth

We've cut our first tooth!  You can't see it/Jack won't let you look.  But if you let him chomp on your finger you'll feel it, it's a sharp little bugger.

I love this face, it's just before he gets ready to let out a yell/growl

7 Months

Stats:
Height: 30"
Weight: 19lbs 8oz

I would say we hit a growth spurt, over an inch in less then a month and almost a pound.  Might explain why we've been up every 2 hours at night.

We're starting to get less and less cooperative with these pictures each month.  Also, I realize he needs new pants... I didn't have any the next size up.

Pumpkin Patch

We hit up the pumpkin farm after church this morning.  It is quite the set up.  They had mini ponies for kids to ride, pumpkins everywhere, food stands, playgrounds, a haunted house, a petting zoo, a hay rack ride, and all kinds of other things, that Jack wasn't that interested in.  So we snapped some pictures, purchased an over-priced pumpkin, and decided we'd come back next year.
